The Pret a Manger cafe in my city converted its toilets to gender neutral. To get to them you have to go down to a deserted basement level a long way from the cafe. Last time I used them a man came right up behind me when I was washing my hands and it really made me panic because we were a long way out of sight and hearing of the cafe. I felt very vulnerable.
